not for profit organisation of all volunteers covering the

Bellarine Peninsula Region.

IT LEADS AND DRIVES OPPORTUNITIES THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE ON THE BELLARINE.

• The long-term focus of the Committee for Bellarine will be to:- 

  • Establish and build a strong community presence.
  • Establish taskforces using our diverse membership base.
  • Establish a positive community relationship.
  • Improve community attitudes to economic innovation and dynamism.
  • Continue funding its operation as a not-for-profit organisation.

The PBDA is also a means for business operators in the region to connect with local and other government bodies.

Representing shop traders, commercial enterprises, trades and services, professional services, tourism and accommodation, the PBDA is a vibrant and active association.

Based in Portarlington the PBDA also welcomes businesses in St Leonards and Indented Head.

Like other community groups,  our members come together because they have common interests and concerns.

Where’s Joss? formed in 2011 when Geelong College friends and music students Joss Russell (lead singer, keyboards), Harry Booth (guitar), James Fitzpatrick (drums), and Julian Kenny (guitar) decided to form a covers band and launch themselves at Geelong’s pub venues.

Successful nights at Geelong’s famous National Hotel and iconic Barwon Club Hotel, gave them an insatiable taste for live performance. They grabbed old schoolmate Connor Forsyth (bass guitar) from Geelong Grammar, and have been playing original and cover band gigs at major venues, parties, festivals, functions and weddings, across Victoria ever since.

Where’s Joss? have opened for Daryl Braithwaite, Ross Wilson, Brian Mannix, Bluejuice, Taxi Ride, Brian Cadd and Russell Morris. They have played their own shows on the Heineken Main Stage at the Australian Open Tennis. Where’s Joss? original music has featured on Triple M, and been a hit at festivals including Harvest N Graze, the St Kilda Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival.

Once known as  The Ol’ Duke, it closed down in June 2013, leaving a beautiful building with no immediate future.

The Bellarine Brewing Company took over the Ol Duke property, re-opening it in October 2013 and renamed it Angasi Bar & Grill after the local Bellarine Peninsula endemic oyster.

The historic facade hints at the plush interior appointments allowing an enjoyable and relaxing experience. The local mussels, for which Portarlington is still famous today, feature on both the lunch and dinner menus. The Mussel Stout was first brewed by local Bellarine Brewery Company and is a firm favourite, along side their other refreshing beers.  Why not come on down, soak up the view and satisfy your taste buds.

The southern mud oyster, also known as the native flat oyster, ‘Ostrea angasi’, is endemic to southern Australia, ranging from Western Australia to southeast New South Wales and around Victoria and Tasmania.

The Buy Bellarine Inc. vision is to encourage and support the quality, quantity and variety of fresh, locally available produce and products of The Bellarine and in so doing, enhance and protect its rural and natural environment with the support and endorsement of businesses, both large and small. A non profit incorporated Association completely run and staffed by VOLUNTEERS.

The Buy Bellarine Barn is your source for many local farm fresh products from the leading Bellarine growers and producers..

* We endeavor to have many local varieties of fresh local food produce on sale, as well as other Geelong regionally sourced produce.

* Most of the food network produce is delivered the Friday night prior to sale on Weekend and if unsold, returned.

* This ensures you get the most freshest and delicious fruit and vegetables direct from the farmers to you.

The Buy Bellarine Produce Barn is centrally located on The Bellarine at Tuckerberry Hill Farm, Becks Road, Drysdale, just 3 kms east of the Drysdale township along Murradoc Road, and is the weekend focal point for the sales and distribution of our fresh, locally grown and processed produce and products from 9.00am – 3.00pm.
